From 1966, Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound of  Silence," found on almost everyone's soundtrack of the 60s.  This song appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for 42 weeks and is regarded as the 18th most performed song of the 20th Century and ranked 157 on Rolling Stone's greatest songs of all time.
